If you are a homeowner or private renter, you may be eligible for a free grant to make your home more energy efficient.

The Great British Insulation Scheme will provide a grant to install free cavity wall insulation and other measures such as loft insulation, flat roof and internal wall insulation. Helping to save for example on a semi-detached property an average £235. Subject to eligibility criteria.

‍To qualify you’ll need to either own your home, your council tax band is between A and E with an EPC rating of D or lower. Or your home has an EPC rating of D or lower and either you or someone you live with is in receipt of one of the listed benefits below. If you don’t have an EPC we may still be able to help you.

First Time Loft Insulation

Alternatively, you could save £225 a year with having FREE first-time loft insulation installed. You could benefit from a top up if you already have a layer installed but you may need to pay a contribution.  Savings shown are for a semi-detached property.

You’re on a qualifying benefit (see list below) and you privately rent your home, and have an EPC of D or E (we may still be able to help if you don’t have an EPC)

Or you are a homeowner and have an EPC rating of D or lower and a council tax band of A to D  in England  and A to E in Scotland or Wales (we may still be able to help if you don’t have an EPC)

  • You’re on qualifying benefits (see list below), and you are a homeowner with an EPC of D to G
  • You’re on a qualifying benefit (see list below) and you privately rent your home, and have an EPC of D or E (we may still be able to help if you don’t have an EPC)
  • Or you are a homeowner and have an EPC rating of D or lower and a council tax band of A to D  in England  and A to E in Scotland or Wales (we may still be able to help if you don’t have an EPC)
